Bred from Challenger and Northdown at Wye College and released in 1998. Not as harsh as Target, but very mild aromatics so use in combination with other varieties for late-hopping and dry hopping.

Compact cones with high Alpha levels and a subtle but pleasant fresh hoppy aroma.

Provides good background bitterness for beers where large quantities of very low alpha aroma hops such as Fuggles/ Goldings are typically used, e.g. English Bitters, Pale Ales and IPA's, or with Aramis/ Saaz in Continental or Czech Pilsners.

With low aroma, also suits Witte & Weisse styles.
