Topaz was orginally bred as a hop variety mainly for the production of hop extract. Its attractive aroma characteristics were discovered only recently. This cultivar has the characteristic earthy notes of old English varieties. The flavour profile includes fruity aromas of blackberries, gooseberries, blueberries and currants, complimented by sweet passion fruit notes.
